Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2: how many were built, and what one is worth

The cars that opened Ferrari's Icona series: 499 built across both, no roof, no windscreen, and a thinner market than the headlines suggest.

4 November 2026

The Monza SP1 and SP2 opened Ferrari's Icona series in 2018, drawing on the barchetta racers of the 1950s. The SP1 is a single-seater, the SP2 a two-seater. Neither has a roof, and neither has a conventional windscreen: an aerodynamic device ahead of the cockpit lifts air over the driver's head instead.

Specification

A 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 producing 810 cv, the most powerful non-hybrid engine Ferrari had built at the time. Carbon-fibre bodywork throughout. List price was around €1.58 million before options, and the options list is where a great deal of the money went.

How many were built

499 across the SP1 and SP2 combined, not 499 of each. The SP2 is much the more numerous of the two, because most buyers wanted the second seat.

What one is worth, as of November 2026

Roughly $2.5 million to $3.5 million for a typical SP2, with dealer asking prices across Europe spanning €1.8 million to €4 million depending on specification.

The public record is thin and contradictory. An SP2 made $4,955,000 at Broad Arrow Amelia in 2026, which is the model record. Another made $2.53 million in Abu Dhabi in December 2025. A third failed to sell at $2,600,000 on SBX in April 2026.

A record, a modest sale and a no-sale inside eighteen months does not describe a rising market. It describes a thin one. On a 499-car run, two motivated buyers in the same room set a number that the next twenty transactions will not repeat, and that cuts both ways when you come to sell.

SP1 or SP2

The SP1 is rarer and the SP2 is more usable, and the market has consistently paid for usable. If you want the single-seater, expect a longer search.
