Ferrari Daytona SP3: how many were built, and what one is worth

599 built, every one allocated before the car was shown publicly, and a secondary market that has moved a long way in 2026.

Part of the Icona series, the Daytona SP3 commemorates the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona, where a 330 P3/4, a 330 P4 and a 412 P crossed the line side by side in first, second and third, on Ford's home ground. A 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 mounted mid-rear, under a removable targa roof.

What the engine actually is

The F140 HC V12 produces 840 cv at 9,250 rpm and 697 Nm at 7,250 rpm, running to 9,500 rpm. It is the most powerful naturally aspirated engine Ferrari has built, and that wording is worth being precise about. Ferrari's F80 makes considerably more power, but it does so with a hybrid turbocharged V6. If you want Maranello's high-water mark for an engine with no turbocharger and no electric motor, this is it, and it is the end of the line.

How many were built

599. Every one was allocated by invitation before the car was shown publicly, with the 499 Monza SP1 and SP2 owners taking first call and the remainder going to established collectors. Production has finished. For anyone who was not on that list, the secondary market is the only route in.

What one is worth, as of November 2026

This has moved a long way in a year, and the answer depends heavily on which market and which specification you are asking about.

At the standard end, European cars with delivery mileage have been advertised at around £6 million. At RM Sotheby's London on 31 October 2026, Ferrari's own development and press car sold for £8,161,250 including fees, against a £7.5 to £9.5 million estimate. That is the most useful public reference point for a European car with documented provenance.

American results have run much higher. One car made $17,825,000 at Monterey in August 2026 and another $18,540,000 at Las Vegas. Both were exceptional: first-owner cars with almost no mileage and Tailor Made specification. A charity one-off has been reported higher again.

We do not price against those. One contested lot is a result, not a market. The gap between a £6 million European asking price and an $18 million American auction result is specification, provenance and which room you are standing in, and anyone budgeting from the headline figures alone will get the wrong answer in both directions.

Why it does not reach the open market

An allocated car with a known owner does not get advertised. A public listing tells the market who holds the car and what they want for it, which is the specific thing that has already cost Daytona SP3 owners. These cars move privately, between people who were introduced.

We can reach this car

This is a car we can currently reach off-market. Specification, provenance and location are released once we understand the requirement.
